Carol and Hap were married on December 1, 2012 on a beautifully overcast, yet a bit rainy day. But not even the rain could put a damper on this couple’s enthusiasm to celebrate their love with the world and show everyone how down-to-earth crazy they were about each other and getting married. They celebrated with just close family and friends, creating a “dinner party-esque” vibe that was just fun and elegantly casual.
Carol had told us only that she loved purple, and deep eggplant purples, and from there we were able to pick stunning linens, florals and other little touches that made the entire event seem rich and textural. The venue really did it all, though – a stunning yacht in the San Francisco Bay!
After their traditional ceremony at their home church in San Francisco, Carol and Hap took some photos with those they loved – including top class musicians that performed all throughout the ceremony to showcase the couple’s love of great music – and then we all got on a shuttle and headed to the Pier for our “sail-away” celebration!
Not your average Hornblower cruise, this yacht was fitted out with state of the art furniture, decor and a top class staff that made each guest feel like they were stepping into another world for a few hours. The weather provided a bit of choppiness as we neared the Golden Gate, but Hap didn’t care – we were going to get that killer shot by the bridge! 🙂
The party continued with some yummy food, lots of chatting and mingling (while enjoying the views of course!) and really touching speeches by Carol and Hap’s loved ones and family. We had such a pleasant time helping this couple blend DIY elements and touches with those special upgraded touches where they stood out most.
It is the best part of our jobs when we are able to help coordinate a wedding for a couple so incredibly in love and thoroughly dedicated with sharing that with their other loved ones. Major thanks to Andre Nguyen Photography for capturing this on film, St. James Episcopal Church, Yacht Connections, the Cakemaker, Rhapsody Floral Design and Julie Dy for their parts in the day!
